Irbid:An Arab delegation of 150 influential figures visited the town of Kufr Soum in the Bani Kinanah District to explore archaeological and tourist sites as part of the 10th International “Knights and Knightesses of the Message” Conference held in Amman.
According to Jordan News Agency, the delegation, which included media, academic, parliamentary, cultural, and economic figures from several Arab countries, began their tour at the Obeidat tribe’s diwan. Ahmad Obeidat, the head of the diwan, welcomed the delegation and spoke about Jordan’s openness and the historical significance of such gatherings.
Obeidat highlighted the region’s historical contributions and the legacy of Sheikh Kaid Al-Mufleh Obeidat, emphasizing Jordan’s role as a model of peace and moderation under Hashemite leadership. Writer Mohammad Kanan from Palestine also addressed the gathering, praising the strong relations between Jordan and Palestine.
Kawthar Othman, President of the Arab American Women Association, praised the visit for its messages of love and communication and commended the contributions of Jordanian women.
The delegation toured several sites, including the Yarmouk Forest Nature Reserve, the Umm Qais archaeological site, Abila, and the site of the Battle of Yarmouk, showcasing the historical and natural beauty of northern Jordan.
