Addis Ababa: Ambassador Taye Atske Selassie, serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs has been appointed as president of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The joint opening session of the House of People’s Representatives (HoPR) and the House of Federation (HoF) approved Taye, as the country’s president with 5 abstains and majority.

Ambassador Taye is an Ethiopian diplomat with years of experience with the United Nations (UN).
