The event is designed to be inclusive, offering opportunities for people of different ages and abilities to engage in sport and enhance their well-being.
The Eldoret City Run will feature three categories a 3-kilometre fun run, a 5-kilometre race, and a 10-kilometre run, with the latter also including elite athletes. The event coincides with Absa’s 100-year presence in Eldoret, celebrating a century of engagement with the region’s agricultural, commercial, and entrepreneurial communities. As part of the celebrations, the bank is visiting long-standing customers and hosting the Absa @100 Golf Tournament on Saturday, preceding the city run.
Joseph Boit, chairman of the Athletics Kenya Uasin Gishu County branch, confirmed that all preparations, including the route, security, and logistics, are complete. He encouraged athletes to maintain the integrity of Kenyan athletics by competing cleanly.
