UDA Scoops Majority MCA Seats In Narok

The Kenya Kwanza Alliance got the lion’s share in the Narok County Assembly seats after they garnered 15 seats against the Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya Alliance that got 11 seats.
Three other members of the County Assembly (MCA) were elected on an Independent ticket while one ward, Ololmasani Ward, is yet to elect their leader after one of the aspirants passed on during the campaign season.
Those elected on UDA ticket were 13 MCAs, CCM and ANC parties got one MCA each. On the other hand, Jubilee and ODM got five MCAs each, while another was elected on UPF party.
Only five of the 29 elect- MCAs retained their seats, with no woman elected as MCA.
Narok Township Ward MCA-elect, Lukas Kudate (ODM) said the Assembly will do its role of ensuring they conduct an oversight to the County Executive and represent the electorates properly.
The first time MCA said they will enact laws that will benefit all the residents so as to improve the economy of the county.
“I believe we are a good combination. We will not let the people who elected us down. We will serve everyone without minding their backgrounds or their political affiliation to grow the economy of our county,” he said.
Suswa Ward MCA elect Salaash Kisotu thanked the electorate for vesting their trust on him promising not to let them down when he enters the county assembly.
“Some of the key issues we will try to resolve together is ensuring the residents of Suswa get clean water near their homesteads and improve infrastructure,” he said.
The recent polls also saw long serving Kimintet Ward MCA Kuyo Ole Kijabe (UDA) sent home by a youthful pastor, Samuel Wantai of CCM.
Ole Kijabe has served the Kimintet people since 1982 when he was elected a councillor in the defunct County council administration.
Another powerful MCA sent home was Bernard Torome (UDA), who has been serving the Narok Township people since 2002.
