UDA Opens Hamisi Offices To Boost Grassroots Mobilization Efforts

Nairobi: The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has stepped up its grassroots mobilisation efforts in Vihiga County following the official opening of new party offices in Hamisi Sub-County aimed at strengthening engagement with members and expanding the party’s presence in the region.

According to Kenya News Agency, the new offices, located at the Hamisi Sub-County Headquarters, Virembe (Hamisi Central Sub-Branch), and Muhudu, were officially launched during a ceremony attended by party leaders, members, and supporters drawn from different parts of the constituency.

Speaking during the event, Hamisi Member of Parliament Charles Gimose described the opening of the offices as a major milestone in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and enhancing communication between leaders and wananchi. He said the offices will serve as key centres for coordinating party activities, mobilising members, disseminating information, and promoting the party’s development agenda across the constituency and the wider county.

Gimose emphasized that this step is crucial for bringing party services closer to the people and strengthening structures at the grassroots. The offices are expected to provide a platform for engagement between leaders and members while enhancing the party’s ability to serve communities effectively.

The legislator noted that strong grassroots structures are essential for ensuring party members remain actively involved in decision-making processes and contribute meaningfully to the party’s growth and development. The launch was attended by Emuhaya Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba, who joined local leaders, party officials, and residents in celebrating the expansion of the party’s infrastructure within the region.

Leaders present emphasized the importance of strengthening local party structures to promote unity, encourage political participation, and enhance interaction between elected leaders and residents. They noted that the establishment of accessible party offices would provide members with a convenient platform to engage with leaders, seek information on party programmes, and contribute ideas on issues affecting their communities.

Supporters who attended the launch welcomed the move, expressing optimism that the offices would improve access to party leadership and create a stronger link between elected representatives and residents at the grassroots level. The event attracted a large turnout of party members and supporters, a development leaders said reflected growing enthusiasm for the party’s activities and agenda within the constituency.

Leaders used the occasion to urge residents to remain united and continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening local leadership, and promoting socio-economic development. Gimose thanked party members, leaders, and supporters for their commitment and participation, noting that their support was instrumental in ensuring the successful launch of the offices.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to empowering communities, strengthening grassroots leadership structures, and advancing development programmes that respond to the needs and aspirations of residents. The opening of the Hamisi, Virembe, and Muhudu offices is expected to enhance UDA’s organisational capacity as the party continues to expand its outreach and strengthen its presence at the grassroots level under its slogan, ‘Kazi ni Kazi’.
