The Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua, has this morning launched the Fertilizer Subsidy Progamme where he flagged off Subsidized Fertilizer to various regions of the country.
The Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua, has this morning launched the Fertilizer Subsidy Progamme where he flagged off Subsidized Fertilizer to various regions of the country.
Addressing the Press at the Harambee Annex, Hon Rigathi noted that this is a Kenya Kwanza intervention, to actualize affordable farm inputs inorder to increase agricultural productivity and lower food prices.
To set the pace for the implementation of the The Fertilizer Subsidy Programme he said, the National Treasury has availed Kshs 3.55 Billion.
Under the Programme, the Government through the National Cereals and Produce Board will avail 1.4 Million 50kg bags of fertilizer to farmers, during the ongoing Short Rains Season.
At the reduced prices, a 50 kg bag of DAP will sell at Ksh3,500, CAN at Ksh 2,875, UREA at Ksh 3,500, NPK at Ksh 3,275, MOP Ksh 1,775 and Sulphate of Ammonia at Ksh 2,220.
