TEAM BUILDING FOR MINISTRY’S HEADS OF DEPARTMENT COMES TO A CLOSE

Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru wrapped up a two-day team-building exercise that brought together all the Heads of Department in the Ministry.

The forum was aimed at creating synergy among the various departments in a broader effort to maximize their input to enable the Ministry fulfill its Constitutional mandate.

The PS who sat throughout the two days expressed his gratitude following the successful workshop saying it had achieved it’s intended purpose. He said he was convinced the forum created a stronger and a more cohesive workforce that is poised to take the Ministry to the next level.

He reiterated the significant role of the civilian component in offering support and administrative services to the military saying the soldier is the ‘North Star’ providing the roadmap and directions to achieve the Ministry’s overall goal.

The PS noted that the Ministry shall be able to fulfill its mandate if the various departments continue working together in the realization that the success of one department depends on the support of the other.

“It was gratifying to have all the heads in one forum even as we strategize on how best we can offer our expertise more effectively and efficiently. This is something that we shall cascade to other levels of our workforce in the coming days,” said the PS.

Mr. Kennedy Okondo, the Director of Strategy, Policy and Planning hailed the forum saying it had been a success and that the thematic areas covered were carefully selected and had enlightened them on various aspects on commitment, synergy, trust among others.
