A widow in Kisumu is Appealing to well-wishers to help her son join Ramba Boys High School in Siaya County, where he was admitted after scoring 335 marks in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
Maureen Odhiambo, who sells Ice Cream in Kisumu City, said she had lost hope of her son joining high school due to financial constraints.
She says her business which makes Sh150- Sh200 per day, can hardly cater for food and other needs, adding that she was equally struggling to raise rent after the death of her husband in 2010.
Odhiambo added that she has done everything possible to see her son who aspires to be an engineer complete primary school and is now calling on well-wishers to help the boy realize his dreams
“I have walked into various government offices and NGOs seeking for bursaries and scholarships, but my efforts have borne no fruits. I request anybody who is touched to help my child go to school,” she said.
The pupil, June Otieno was among the best performers at Manyatta Primary School in the 2021 KCPE examination.
“I was very happy when I saw my results, but looking back at my humble background, my joy is almost lapsing,” stated Otieno.
He assured those who may come to his aid that he will work extremely hard to make them proud.
