Six Schools In Kericho Receive Buses

Teachers and students from six public schools in Ainamoi Constituency, Kericho County have benefitted from Sh42 million new school buses courtesy of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
The Multi-million NG-CDF project initiated by Ainamoi Member of Parliament Sylvanus Maritim delivered the six 51- seater school buses branded in yellow to Kapsoit, Keongo, Chepngobob, Kaptebeswet, Ainamoi High School and Sitowet Secondary Schools.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony of the buses at Keongo Secondary School, each at a cost of Sh7.16 million, Maritim said that the NG-CDF had tremendously impacted the lives of Kenyans and especially in the education sector where many needy students were currently benefiting from school bursaries.
“I urge school Principals not to send students home for lack of school fees, especially the needy students. We are processing the bursaries for this year and very soon the funds will be wired to school accounts,” stressed Maritim.
He said during the 2021/2022 financial year, Ainamoi was allocated Sh38 million.
During the event that was filled with pomp and colour, KCPE candidates were also offered encyclopaedias courtesy of the NG-CDF that would assist them in their studies and thus improve their performances.
Present at the function was Kapkugerwet Ward Member of County Assembly Collins Kiprono Biegon who vowed to support the government’s efforts in boosting the level of education in the County and urged students to focus on their studies and shun illicit behaviour that could derail their studies.
The National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) is established under the NG-CDF Act, 2015 as amended in 2016 with the main purpose of addressing the socio-economic development of the people at the constituency level in order to reduce poverty and enhance regional equity.
