Eldoret: The Administration of Hill School, Eldoret Primary, is appealing for support to expand the institution’s infrastructure to address overcrowding. The School has continued to receive additional learners due to its exemplary academic performance in national examinations over the years.
According to Kenya News Agency, the School Principal, Naftali Mibei, expressed concern over the overcrowded and over-enrolled conditions, which are stretching the available classrooms to their limits. He urged partners, parents, and the government to help build more classes. “As we are talking, today, the main challenge in this school is overcrowded classrooms. The minimum learners in a class in this school, we have 90 learners, which will affect the performance. we are really requesting the government to build for us more classrooms,” he said.
Mibei emphasized the need for 24 additional classrooms to maintain the school’s high performance standards. He commended the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) for assigning enou
gh teachers to the school, who are contributing to the implementation of the new curriculum while sustaining the school’s academic and co-curricular achievements.
He highlighted that Hill School is gaining national recognition for its academic success, evidenced by last year’s transition of 337 learners to C1 senior school and 40 to C2 school. Despite infrastructure challenges, the school remains committed to improving its academic performance.
Beyond academics, Mibei noted that the school excels in co-curricular activities, consistently reaching the national level in music and drama competitions. The school also boasts achievements in polo games and athletics, marking it as a well-rounded educational institution.
