S. Africa’s Minister Says Maxim African Solutions to African Problems Should Go Beyond Solving Conflicts

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen had discussed with Naledi Pandor, International Relations and Cooperation Minister of South Africa about the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister had a working lunch with Naledi Pandor, where they conversed about the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement.

During the occasion, Demeke expressed his gratitude to the Government of South Africa for facilitating and supporting the Peace Agreement.

He said the Government of Ethiopia is committed to implementing the agreement and called on support from the international community for rehabilitation efforts.

The South African Foreign Minister said her country is proud to be a part of the Ethiopian peace process and expressed her country’s readiness to support the implementation of the Peace Agreement.

She said the maxim African Solutions to African Problems should go beyond solving conflicts and be implemented in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts.

According to Pandor, South Africa is interested in assisting rehabilitation efforts, particularly in the education sector.
