Residents Advised To Rehabilitate Forests

Elgeyo Marakwet residents have been urged to conserve environment by replacing destroyed trees and water catchment areas.
Speaking during a field tour at Endo, Marakwet East Sub County, Deputy County Commissioner Simon Osumba, encouraged every ward in the county to raise tree nurseries of with at least 4,000 tree seedlings to be used in the restoration efforts.
He expressed disappointment that large amounts of natural forests in the county had been cleared to pave way for agricultural activities.
The DCC advised them to embrace technical advice from government extension officers on all aspects of development to improve their livelihoods through better earnings.
