Narok: The Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, announced the recruitment of 10,000 police constables across the country to bolster national security in preparation for the 2027 General Election. During a surprise visit to the William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok town, IG Kanja observed the recruitment process, emphasizing the need for adequate personnel to ensure smooth election preparations.

According to Kenya News Agency, IG Kanja expressed his satisfaction with the transparent nature of the recruitment exercise, assuring that only qualified candidates would be selected. He stated, “The process is a transparent one and only the best candidates will be picked to join the Service.” The IG also encouraged young people to remain law-abiding and avoid criminal activities, as such behavior could negatively impact their job prospects.

The recruitment exercise had previously been paused by the Employment and Labour Relations Court following a filed petition. Conducted at 427 centers, the exercise was scheduled to run from 8 AM to 5 PM.
