Ngong: Education officials, security teams, and examination administrators have been commended for their commitment and coordination in ensuring the ongoing Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) examinations run smoothly across the country. Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Dr. Julius Bitok, lauded the seamless conduct of the tests but urged continued vigilance from all officers involved. He emphasised that any irregularities or suspicious activities should be reported immediately to the relevant authorities.
According to Kenya News Agency, speaking while opening an examination container at the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Kajiado North offices in Ngong, Dr Bitok said that heavy investments in examination security – including the trial deployment of smart digital locks that provide real-time data on the opening and closing of exam containers – will ensure the integrity of the process and that the results truly reflect learners’ performance. “We are proud of the progress made so far. The examinations are on course, and a multi-sectoral team is working round the clock to ensure they are administered professionally,” said Dr Bitok.
The PS has been touring Kajiado County, particularly Kajiado North Sub-County, to oversee and witness the official opening of national examination containers as part of government efforts to monitor the process closely. Kajiado North DCC Yusuf Mohammed told KNA that coordination between the Sub-County Education Office, the National Police Service, and local administrators has been effective, ensuring the exams proceed without interruption. “We have beefed up security in all our examination centers, and so far, no incidents have been reported,” he confirmed.
Yusuf further noted that multi-agency teams comprising education officers, security personnel, and local administrators continue to work jointly to guarantee the integrity and smooth completion of the national examinations. The DCC extended his best wishes to all candidates, urging them to approach the exams with diligence, honesty, and confidence while avoiding any malpractice.
The 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations commenced on October 21 and are scheduled to conclude on November 21.
