Wasimbete: Principal Secretary for Interior and National Administration Raymond Omollo has announced that the government will soon operationalise all gazetted administrative units across the country to enhance service delivery at the grassroots. Speaking on Sunday during a church service and thanksgiving ceremony at Gospel Commission Fellowship, Ogada Church in Wasimbete Ward, Suna West Sub-County, Omollo emphasized that this initiative aims to bring government services closer to wananchi and strengthen security and administration structures at the local level.
According to Kenya News Agency, Omollo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all Kenyans, regardless of location, have access to efficient public services. He stated, “Operationalising the gazetted administrative units will help improve coordination, enhance security and ensure wananchi access government services more conveniently.”
On the topic of youth empowerment, Omollo urged young people to take advantage of government programmes designed to enhance their economic prospects. He highlighted initiatives such as NYOTA and the Youth Empowerment Fund, urging the youth to apply and utilise these opportunities instead of relying on political handouts. “Young people should seize these empowerment opportunities to better their lives economically rather than waiting to be given money during political seasons,” he said.
Addressing security concerns, Omollo warned politicians against inciting chaos during public gatherings, funerals, and political events. He urged leaders to promote peace, unity, and harmony within their communities, following recent clashes between supporters of Ochilo Ayacko and Peter Masara during a burial ceremony in Oruba area earlier this month, which temporarily disrupted activities in parts of Migori town.
Omollo stressed that political leaders must refrain from acts of violence and instead set good examples for their supporters to foster meaningful socio-economic development. He also cautioned the youth against allowing themselves to be exploited by politicians to settle political scores, encouraging them to participate responsibly in leadership processes and elect credible leaders.
Among those present at the function were Governor Ochilo Ayacko, Suna West MP Peter Masara, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita, and several Members of the County Assembly.
