NG-CDF Funded Tuition Block Opens at Sergoit Comprehensive School

Elgeyo marakwet: A new 10-classroom tuition block constructed through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) was officially commissioned at Sergoit Comprehensive School in Kamariny Ward, marking a major boost to education infrastructure in the area. The project was inaugurated by Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen during the school’s 70th anniversary celebrations hosted by Keiyo North Member of Parliament Adams Kipsanai.

According to Kenya News Agency, MP Kipsanai highlighted that the modern tuition block, fully funded by NG-CDF Keiyo North, will enhance the learning environment and expand access to quality education for learners in the region. He stated that the new classrooms would provide a better learning environment and improve access to quality education.

Kipsanai emphasized the role of NG-CDF in transforming schools through infrastructure development and bursary support, noting, “The National Government Constituencies Development Fund has revolutionized access to quality education at the grassroots through the development of education infrastructure and bursaries for needy students.” He also urged parents to support their children’s education to ensure they can pursue their academic aspirations.

Cabinet Secretary Murkomen commended the project, describing it as a reflection of the prudent use of public resources and the importance of investing in education infrastructure. He stated, “I commend Adams Kipsanai, the Constituency NG-CDF Committee and the school management for prudently utilizing NG-CDF to build a modern and magnificent tuition block.” Murkomen underscored that improved infrastructure is essential for enhancing academic performance and creating a conducive learning environment.

He also encouraged parents to monitor their children’s academic progress and instructed National Government Administrative Officers to collaborate with school administrators to keep schools free from drugs and alcohol. The commissioning ceremony was attended by learners, parents, teachers, local leaders, and residents who praised the project as a significant advancement in raising education standards in the area.
