Two bright needy pupils from Homa-Bay County are appealing to well-wishers to support them to join secondary schools.
The pupils are Ebby Atieno who scored 376 marks at Kamasi Primary school and Koffi Anan who scored 362 marks from Agoro Sare Primary school. Ebby was selected to join Asumbi Girls national school but she is stranded at home to date.
Her mother Caroline Awuor who is a peasant farmer and resident of West Kanyatodo location in Ndhiwa Sub-county said she could not afford Sh71, 000 which is required for her daughter secure admission in the school.
“I have tried all possible means but I failed. I am still stranded with my daughter at home. I appeal to well-wishers to come to my aid,” Awuor said.
Ebby, 14, pleaded with well-wishers to help her achieve her dream of becoming a medical doctor.
On the other hand, Koffi Anan was called to join Ratang’a Boys Secondary school in Ndhiwa Sub-county but he has not joined form one due to his parents’ inability to pay school fees.
His father Erick Mulanga, a resident of South Alego location in Siaya County, said he has tried all possible avenues of raising Sh56, 000 which is required at Ratang’a boys but has not succeeded.
“My business of selling herbal drugs was adversely affected by Covid-19. I have not recovered,” said Mulanga calling on well-wishers to intervene and help him. “May anyone help me support my son’s education,” Mulanga said.
Annan said he dreams of becoming an engineer. “The main obstacle to my dream is school fees. May well-wishers help me achieve my dream,” said Annan.
