Ijara: The National Police Service has successfully recruited 10 candidates in Ijara Sub-county, Garissa, during an exercise conducted at the Masalani Police Station grounds. The group consists of two women and eight men.
According to Kenya News Agency, the recruitment process was overseen by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Paul Langat. A total of 74 candidates, including 67 men and seven women, gathered at the recruitment centre. After a thorough evaluation process, the Police Service selected eight men and two women who met all the recruitment stages’ requirements.
SSP Langat noted that many candidates did not achieve the mandatory D+ aggregate in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam. Additionally, some did not meet the required grade of D+ and above in English and Kiswahili. Despite these challenges, the selected candidates successfully completed the recruitment process.
Parents of the candidates showed their support by spending a significant part of the day at the Masalani Police Station, hopeful that their children would be selected. A spot-check by KNA revealed that the residents were satisfied with the fairness and transparency of the recruitment exercise, praising the integrity of the recruiting officers and other security agencies involved. The recruitment exercise began at 7:00 am and concluded at 6:30 pm.
The recruitment drive also took place in Bothai and Hulugho Sub-counties, as well as other centres within the extensive Garissa County.
