Ministry Of Education To Hand Over Site For The SEQIP Projects

Ministry of Education in Loitoktok Sub County is in the process of handing over sites for Kenya Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQIP).
The site handing over which started yesterday will see 38 schools, 12 and 26 secondary and primary respectfully benefit with laboratories and sanitation facilities.
While speaking to the press during handing over of the site for construction of a laboratory and a class at Ilkisonko Boys High school, Loitoktok Sub County Director of Education Peter Bitah appreciated the World Bank for funding the projects.
Bitah said the project is aimed at improving quality of education in the sub county and will also help in decongesting some schools with high population.
Ilkisonko Boys High School Principal Daniel Makao appreciated the SEQIP project that will help in decongesting about 200 KCSE 2022 candidature through construction of a laboratory and a class.
Titus Ochieng, WAASO Construction, who has been contracted to construct the facilities in the school promised to source 90% of skilled and unskilled labour locally.
Ochieng further pointed out that he will source for construction materials locally as long as they are available.
The contractor said the project will be completed within six months promising work to start within coming two weeks.
The team from the department of education will conclude handing over of sites on Friday this week.
