Rachuonyo: Leaders in Rachuonyo Sub County have called for peaceful coexistence with one another during the 63rd Madaraka Day celebration held at Rachuonyo Vocational and Technical College. MP for Kasipul constituency, Boyd Were, emphasized his commitment to ensuring unity and peace in the constituency, highlighting education and security as his top priorities. “As an MP of this area, my top agenda is education and security. In security, I have done my best, and the constituency is now more united and peaceful. We are very peaceful,” he stated.
According to Kenya News Agency, Silvester Mwangulu, the Rachuonyo Sub County Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), also stressed the importance of maintaining peace in the sub-county at all times, regardless of political affiliations. He assured that the government would not tolerate individuals who infiltrate political gatherings to cause disharmony. Mwangulu called for support from the local administration to protect residents and their properties.
The DCC noted the government’s efforts in creating almost nine new administrative units in the sub-county, which have already been made operational. He urged local leadership, including the MCAs and the area MP, to provide land for establishing police posts to enhance security for the community. Echoing the Madaraka Day theme of education, skills, and the future, MP Were announced the allocation of Sh9 million to Rachuonyo TVC for the purchase of a school bus to facilitate student transportation.
Additionally, Were allocated Sh1.2 million from the CDF-NG to install a digital network at the college, aiming to support students’ online studies and skill enhancement. During the Madaraka fete, Rachuonyo TVC students showcased various skills they are training in, which the MP emphasized as crucial for transforming their livelihoods and contributing to the nation’s progress.
