Mabera: Residents of Komorege village in Tagare Ward, within Mabera Sub-County, have expressed their approval of the ongoing construction of a new murram road that will directly link their area to Mabera town. This development is seen as a crucial project set to enhance economic opportunities and access to essential services.
According to Kenya News Agency, the construction, currently at 25 percent completion, was funded with an allocation of Sh10 million by the Migori County Government. The road is expected to alleviate the transportation difficulties faced by Kuria farmers, who have long struggled to transport their produce to nearby towns like Mabera and Isebania. John Marwa, a resident of Komorege, highlighted the challenges posed by poor infrastructure, emphasizing that the 12-kilometre road will significantly improve access to health facilities and other essential services once completed.
Beatrice Robi, another Komorege resident, expressed optimism that the road’s completion would boost local business, enhance access to the Mabera market, and make it easier for women to reach maternal health services. The project has already seen Sh3 million utilized for its ongoing construction, as disclosed by Tagare Member of County Assembly (MCA) Moses Magwe.
MCA Moses Magwe reiterated his administration’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of Tagare Ward residents through ongoing development efforts. The road project represents a significant step in this commitment, promising to transform the lives of those in the area by enhancing mobility and accessibility.
