Kibwezi Gets New Administrative Unit

Residents of Kibwezi East Sub County will start to access government services closer home after the launching of Kibwezi location and installation of the new chief Charles Mulatya.
Makueni County Commissioner Mr. Maalim Mohamed said the new location would benefit the residents who have been traveling for long distance to Kisayani in Kikumbulyu for government services.
“Kibwezi location was curved from Kikumbulyu location which stretches from Kibwezi town to Athi River, our common border with Kitui County, a stretch of 27kms. This has been a prayer of the residents of Kibwezi town and the entire Kikumbulyu that the location be subdivided,” said Mohammed during the launch at St. Joseph grounds in Kibwezi on Thursday.
The location will serve three sub locations of Kalungu, Mbuinzau and Mukuyuni and will be headquartered at Kibwezi town.
While directing the Chiefs to enhance service delivery to the residents, Mohammed reiterated the government commitment to bring services closer to the citizens.
He appealed to the residents to continue upholding peace even as the country prepares to hold a General Election in August 2022.
“The government is keen in ensuring a peaceful election this August and as residents of this county, lets us conduct ourselves peacefully all the time,” added Mohammed.
