Nairobi: Kenya education sector stakeholders are among over 1,000 leaders of the world’s best schools, policymakers, and tech companies expected to attend the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE mid this month. They will deliberate challenges facing the global education sector.
According to Kenya News Agency, the summit, scheduled for November 15 to 16, 2025, at Yasmina British Academy, will address and offer solutions to bottlenecks hindering the growth of the sector and, to a large extent, the impact of the same on economic development. Eunice Ogolo, Director of Girl Capital – Africa at the Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), emphasized the need for bold ideas to transform the lives of children and adolescents in Kenya and across Africa, stating that the focus should be on systemic change and funding programs that address long-standing problems.
To be hosted by T4 Education, Aldar Education, and the Emirates Foundation, with support from Children’s CIFF, the conference aims to explore how the education sector can endure and progress amidst emerging crises like climate change. Ogolo highlighted that delegates will be expected to propose strategies to address significant challenges, such as insufficient funding, linking the education sector with the labor market, security concerns, and aligning the global education system with the latest technologies.
Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education and the World Schools Summit, pointed out the urgency of the situation, noting that the world is at a crossroads and immediate action is necessary to combat climate change. He stressed the centrality of education in addressing these global issues and expressed pride in convening global leaders to tackle educational challenges and improve the lives of children worldwide.
Director of Microsoft Elevate Caroline Mutepfa expressed anticipation for the summit, where she plans to discuss Microsoft’s vision for empowering educators and students through AI-driven tools, personalized learning, and skill-based pathways to enhance confidence and career readiness.
