Kenya: 7 die in yet another road accident in Kitui, at exactly the same spot 11 died on Saturday

At least seven people died Tuesday afternoon in a grisly road accident in Kenya’s Kitui county.
The crash involving a bus and saloon car occurred in Kanyonyoo area along Thika-Garissa highway.
Five occupants travelling in the Toyota Sienta which was trying to overtake a lorry collided head-on with the bus heading to Nairobi from Garissa died on the spot while the other two were on the bus belonging to Planet sacco.
The accident was confirmed by Yatta sub-county OCPD Mary Kashee Njoki who cautioned drivers against careless driving and high speed.
This is the exact spot where 11 people who were returning home from a dowry ceremony perished on Saturday night.
This is after the matatu they were travelling in rolled several times along a sloppy stretch before crashing. Nine people died instantly while two succumbed in hospital.
The 14-seater matatu, which is alleged to have been overloaded with up to 24 passengers, was ferrying people from Nzokani village in Kitui west.
Among the dead were six family members.
