Nairobi: The Jubilee party has urged residents of Narok town ward to ignore rumours circulating that the party will not field a candidate in the upcoming by-election slated for 27th November. The party emphasized that its flag bearer, Joseph ole Kaputa, remains in the race and will appear on the ballot.
According to Kenya News Agency, the party urged residents to disregard claims that Kaputa had pulled out of the race. Speaking during his campaigns in Narok town, the Jubilee candidate dismissed these allegations, describing them as propaganda aimed at damaging his image to ensure he loses the seat.
Highlighting his community engagement efforts, including initiatives focused on children’s welfare and other development projects, Kaputa assured locals of his commitment to the race. He asserted that he is the right candidate for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat and pledged to deliver effectively if elected.
Jubilee party Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, who joined Kaputa on the campaign trail, echoed similar sentiments, stating that rival parties are misleading voters. Kioni urged residents to remain firm in their decision and vote for Kaputa on 27th November, emphasizing his ability to drive the development agenda.
He also called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure free and fair elections, noting that the credibility of the results will influence public confidence ahead of the 2027 general elections. The SG stressed the importance of curbing election malpractices to ensure locals get the candidate of their choice.
The MCA seat was left vacant following the death of Lucas Ole Kudate. The by-election has attracted five candidates, including Kudate’s son, Kanyinge Kudate, who is vying under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
