It’s Business As Usual

It was business as usual in Siaya town after the anxiety that covered the town as the nation awaited announcement of the presidential results.
The atmosphere in the town has been peaceful despite the weather being chilly and traders continue to operate their shops.
Speaking to KNA, Abdi Ahmed a supermarket proprietor in Siaya town expressed relief over the prevailing peace with residents resuming usual activities.
“I am one of the many traders in this town and I want to urge my fellow business people not to have any worries, we have made steps as a nation to build peace and I am telling those who are yet to open their shops that they should have no fear. Let us do business now that elections are over,” he said.
Residents and motorcycle operators have also embarked on their usual activities with very little police presence, a sign that reassures the citizens that there is a calm atmosphere within and around the town.
Sospeter Aduol, a resident of Siaya Town, said that he is relieved as the anxiety is over. “Kenyans should go on with their lives. Politicians now have jobs to do, and citizens should resume their usual activities,” he added.
