The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government Dr. Fred Matiang’i has declared Friday April 29th , 2022 and Tuesday May 3rd , 2022 as public holidays.
Matiang’i in a gazette notice today, said that all Kenyans across the country will be accorded an opportunity to participate in the State funeral service in honour of the late Mwai Kibaki, the third President of Kenya on Friday.
The interdenominational funeral service will be held at Nyayo national Stadium, Nairobi.
The CS also announced that Kenyans will observe Idd-ul-Fitr celebrations on Tuesday, next week, to mark the end of the month-long fasting period by those professing the Islamic faith.
