Major General Juma Mwinyikai, General Officer Commanding Eastern Command on 06 Jan 2023, visited a number of selected forward operation bases under Operation Amani Boni in Lamu County.
Maj Gen Mwinyikai was received by Manda Bay Base Commander, Brigadier Peter Chelimo alongside OAB commander Col Emmanuel Ptiony. He visited troops deployed in Bargoni, Minjila, and Mkunumbi.
He thanked the soldiers for their continued efforts in serving the nation and more-so urged them to continue strengthening operations within the region to enhance security.
“I’d like to encourage you to remain steadfast and continue with the noble efforts of providing the much-needed security.” He further affirmed that the sustained presence and posture contribute to ensuring normalcy prevails within the County.
He called on their agility and to be robust when conducting their duties albeit professionally inline with the KDF standards.
