Kisii: Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has lauded examination stakeholders for maintaining the integrity of the just-concluded national examinations. Speaking during the celebrations to mark the 11th anniversary of Gospel Embassy Chapel in Kisii town, Ogamba noted that 3.4 million learners undertook assessments and examinations.

According to Kenya News Agency, out of the 3.4 million learners, only 418 instances of malpractices were registered across the country, marking a significant reduction from 600 cases in 2024. Ogamba assured parents, teachers, and learners that the government is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for learners to grade 10 in January next year.

The Cabinet Secretary expressed appreciation for President William Ruto’s efforts in initiating development projects in the region, highlighting the ongoing construction of the University of Nyamira. ‘Next year, in September, we will admit the first cohort of students, and therefore, I want to thank you for everything that you are doing,’ said Ogamba.

He further thanked the President for his support of the Ministry of Education, particularly in areas such as the employment of teachers, curriculum development, and resolving issues concerning the welfare of teachers. President Ruto, along with other leaders from the Gusii region, participated in the celebration of the Gospel Embassy Chapel’s milestone, led by Pastor Peter Morwabe.
