CS George Magoha Commissions CBC Classrooms

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha commissioned newly constructed classrooms at Umoja Secondary and Paul Boit Secondary in Uasin Gishu.
Prof Mahoga said, the construction completion rates have passed the 50% mark for the 3,500 classrooms that were left, the completion will be on or slightly beyond the elections date.
“As we head to elections we continue to pray for peaceful elections and I’m grateful to the citizens who have allowed us to work as if there is nothing going on, as they know we are just working for the children who belong here as the children neither have political parties, nor vote,” Magoha said.
“I appreciate the 4th Estate for working with us through this journey, we shall continue to deliver for the children, I will continue to push my people and find out how far we have gone on the CBC classroom completions before the end of the year,” he stated.
Prof Magoha further apologised over the abrupt closure of schools. “So, for the small pain that I have caused you, I take full responsibility. Please try to understand that I love the children and I would be the last person to put their life or anything at risk,” he said.
“It is important that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) get access to schools since the schools are needed as polling stations for the General Elections on 9th August,” he added.
Magoha lauded the progress made in finalising construction of CBC classrooms as directed.
