Commission Embarks on Comprehensive Audit to Enhance Disability Inclusion

Nairobi: The Public Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), has convened a preliminary scoping meeting to commence preparations for a comprehensive accessibility and usability audit of the commission. Speaking during the meeting, PSC Secretary/CEO Paul Famba reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to working closely with NCPWD to position PSC as a model institution in accessibility, disability inclusion, and mainstreaming within the public service.

According to Kenya News Agency, the audit will systematically assess the extent to which PSC’s physical infrastructure, digital platforms, service delivery systems, employment practices, and institutional culture are accessible and responsive to the needs of persons with disabilities. The exercise is also expected to identify existing gaps and provide actionable recommendations aimed at strengthening accessibility, usability, and institutional inclusion across the Commission’s operations.

Anchored on the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025, the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the initiative reflects PSC’s continued commitment to advancing equality, non-discrimination, and inclusive public service delivery for all Kenyans. Also in attendance were PSC Disability Mainstreaming Committee members led by Chairperson Dr. Philemon Kiprono and representatives from NCPWD.
