Narok: A section of Narok clergy has urged residents to shun politicians who thrive on tribal incitement and division as the 2027 general elections approach.

According to Kenya News Agency, the clergy, led by the Narok County African Independence Pentecost Church of Africa (AIPCA) Bishop, Dickson Nkoitiko, emphasized that rogue politicians aim to create animosity among locals. He urged residents to be vigilant and to provide information to the police when necessary.

Bishop Nkoitiko stressed that leaders and aspirants must promote peaceful co-existence, noting that political enmities are often temporary. He advised Kenyans to avoid personalizing politics and cautioned the youth against being manipulated by politicians to attack opponents on social media.

The bishop also called on religious followers to pray for the nation during this political season to ensure that voters make sound decisions and maintain peace during and after the elections.

Echoing these sentiments, the Chairman of the AIPCA Men’s Association, Simon Mong’atuo, urged locals to uphold peace and resist division along church or tribal lines, emphasizing that the election period is temporary.

Simon Muigai, Chairman of AIPCA Narok Diocese, highlighted the importance of the Church’s integrity and unity, calling for everyone to remain united during and after the 2027 general election.
