CHRISTMAS AT THE FRONTLINES WITH KDF TROOPS

The Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ministry of Defence Hon Aden Duale continued with his festive season tour, visiting KDF troops stationed at Kenya Navy Base (KNB) Manda Bay, Kolbio and Bodhei.

The commanders of the respective units briefed the CS on the prevailing threat and ongoing operational posture.

The CS Defence, while addressing the troops, relayed greetings from the President of the Republic of Kenya and congratulated the troops on their commitment to duty and their professionalism in the provision of security.

He urged all soldiers to continue maintaining high levels of alertness, especially during the holidays.

He further outlined the new administration’s approach to security provision, with one of the measures being focused on a soldiecentreded welfare oriented approach in order to enhance the morale of KDF personnel. This includes the upgrading and construction of health and housing facilities.

The VCDF Lt Gen Francis Ogolla, who accompanied the CS, relayed Christmas greetings and New Year wishes from the CDF. He further reiterated the new administration’s remodernisation and reorganization plan to enable the KDF to effectively address current and future emerging threats. He wished all troops the best in their endeavours.

At KNB, Manda, the CS toured the Trauma Centre, where he visited troops recuperating in the facility.

He concluded his tour by wishing all personnel a happy holidays and a prosperous 2023.
