Busia: Residents of Busia County have been urged to embrace and visit Alupe Sub-county Hospital for health services to decongest Busia County Referral Hospital. Speaking at Bondeni village in Teso South Sub-county, Angorom Ward, Member of County Assembly (MCA), James Ong’ole, highlighted that the Hospital has resumed normal services after serving as an isolation center during the Covid-19 pandemic and is now offering excellent services.
According to Kenya News Agency, Ong’ole emphasized that the Hospital is accepting SHA and encouraged expectant women to seek maternity services there, noting the facility’s adequate maternity wards. He urged residents to register for SHA to reap its benefits.
On infrastructure, Ong’ole addressed the challenge posed by structures on road reserves, which hinder road expansion and affect drainage during the rainy season. He appealed to residents to remove such structures to facilitate road development.
Ong’ole also encouraged the youth to form groups to benefit from available grants in Busia County, promoting projects like poultry farming to improve living standards. He called for collaboration with security agencies to address rising insecurity and urged vigilance among the youth regarding their associations.
Busia County nominated MCA Beatrice Opwapo echoed the call for residents to support current leaders to ensure better service delivery and emphasized the importance of separating politics from development efforts.
