AFFIRMING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS IN THE NEW YEAR

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF’s) troops stationed at Bodhei LAPSSET security camp operating under OAB decided to end the year in style by giving back to the community of Majengo village of Bodhei in Lamu county.

As they addressed the locals, local administration led by area chief Abdalla Ben urged the residents to propagate messages of harmony and peaceful coexistence between the different communities for the betterment of society.

The Officer Commanding in charge Major Paul Orenga on behalf of Commanding Officer Lt. Col Tarit Kimutai thanked the residents for their continued support to the security personnel in the area last year.

“For the past one year, we’ve achieved a lot through your cooperation, and we’d like to urge you to continue with the same spirit and zeal. I’d as well like to encourage you to support the ongoing government agenda of developing the region as the LAPSSET project will bring a lot of development in your region not limited to Infrastructural development, Investors, and many others,” said Major Orenga.

In ushering the new year, KDF medical team partnered with the Lamu County government medical staff from Hindi dispensary to offer medical services, gave out food donations to the locals, graded and erected football posts on “Sansiro” football pitch, additionally, KDF has begun to revamp the office of the chief and further promised to construct additional classrooms for the community.
